A good website that Google and ChatGPT couldn't fully read

A UAE technology company with sharp copy, long service pages and a proper llms.txt file. One crawl of 19 pages found the About page stuck in a redirect loop, every case study returning 404, no share image and not one person named. The name stays private.

The whole audit in one lineGreat content. Broken plumbing.

1 · Discovery-killers critical

  • About page loops. /about sends a 307 to /about/, which sends a 301 back. Browsers give up.
  • All 3 case studies 404. They're linked from the homepage and listed in the sitemap.
  • Share image 404. Every link posted on LinkedIn or WhatsApp shows a blank card.
  • Footer "Terms" link 404 on every page.
→ Fix these before spending a dirham on SEO

2 · Plumbing high

  • Sitemap says one URL, canonical says another. 22 URLs listed without a slash, each 307 to the slash version.
  • Two hosts. www and non-www both load. No redirect between them.
  • Blocked but promoted. robots.txt disallows a page that sits in the main nav.
  • No Organization schema anywhere on the homepage.
→ One host, one URL style, 301 not 307

3 · What was right pass

  • An llms.txt with real facts: markets, process timings, results in AED.
  • GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Googlebot all get HTTP 200.
  • Service pages run 900 to 1,500 words. One H1 each.
  • Every image has alt text. HTTPS, viewport, canonicals all set.
→ The content was never the problem

SEO
5

Clean headings and alt text, pulled down by broken URLs, temporary redirects, 75 to 98 character titles and no site-wide schema.

AEO
5

FAQ schema on 1 page out of 19. Headings are catchy slogans. Nobody types a slogan into Google.

GEO
6

Strong llms.txt, but no named founder, team or author. ChatGPT can't tie the years of experience to a person.

The loop, drawn why /about died

Visitor clicks /about
▼ 307 add slash
/about/
▼ 301 remove slash
/about · back to the start
↺ repeat until the browser quits

Two rules, each correct alone, fighting each other. One adds the slash at the app, the other strips it at the CDN. Nobody notices until a crawler follows both.

Fix effort estimate

  • Break the redirect loop
  • Publish the case studies
  • Sitemap, 301s, one host
  • Organization schema
  • FAQ blocks on services
