Adam and Isa: two prophets, six parallels, and the same count.

Surah Aal-Imran 3:59 says the example of Isa with Allah is like the example of Adam. The Quran doesn't just say they are alike. It shows it in six ways, and even names both of them the same number of times. Both were honoured prophets and servants of Allah, peace be upon them.

The verse · Aal-Imran 3:59إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ آدَمَ"Indeed, the example of Isa with Allah is like the example of Adam."

Why the verse came down Najran

The tafsir scholars say 3:59 answered a Christian delegation from Najran. Their case: Isa had no father, so he must be the son of God.

The reply is one name. If no father makes you divine, what about Adam, who had no father and no mother? No one calls Adam God.

→ A miraculous birth shows the Creator's power, not the creation's divinity

Even the count matches by name

ADAM25
ISA25

The one place the two names stand side by side is the very verse that compares them.

→ Read 3:59 with 3:45 to 3:60
