The demo uses a Superstore dataset (sales, profit, customers) and produces something you could put in front of a CEO or CFO — KPIs, charts, filters and slicers, all in one file.

Don't just ask Claude to "build a dashboard." First ask Claude to write the perfect prompt for you — then feed that prompt back in to actually build the dashboard. This "prompt-from-AI" technique is the real secret sauce.

[0:00] You have created many kinds of dashboards in Excel, in Power BI, in Alteryx. In this video you'll understand how to create this kind of dashboard in Claude — without any coding knowledge. You just feed the data, give a single prompt, and you get the output. Clean, simple, easy.
[0:28] The first thing — I have the claude.ai option and I can use the free version. First I'll upload data. I have a dataset in a folder; I click the plus sign, add files, and pick up the Superstore data.
[0:47] This data is simple — customer information, sales and profit. But the prompt has to be given better, and I don't know how to write a prompt. So watch this technique: I'll ask Claude to write a prompt for me, then copy that prompt and give it back to Claude to create the dashboard.
[1:05] "Observe the data in the Excel file. Behave like the top 0.001% expert in prompt writing who also knows how to create a dashboard. This data is about sales, profit and customers. I want a dashboard for my CEO and CFO — simple, easy to understand, at least 10+ charts, interactive with lots of slicers and filters, and it should give insights. First, write a prompt for me."
[1:43] Finally it gives me a prompt. I copy this and feed the same prompt back into Claude — because if I simply say "create a dashboard," it's not enough. The prompt has to be much better.
[1:62] I start a fresh chat, paste the prompt, add the data again. Within three to five minutes this creates a beautiful dashboard.
[2:07] It's done. I click download and open the HTML link — I can send it to anyone. You can see all the values: Revenue, Profit, Profit Margin, Total Orders, Unique Customers.
[2:37] If I don't like something, I give a simple prompt and the dashboard updates automatically. Say the line chart isn't good — give a prompt and it changes. That's how to create a dashboard in Claude's free version.
