A High-Velocity Month — The SF Launch Shipped
One hundred and fourteen commits, forty-three pull requests, two hundred and twenty-five files. The Bay Area launch went from welcome landing to a 149-page SEO footprint with brand, legal, conversion and AI-answer foundations — all merged at a one-day median. Here is exactly what shipped, where the gaps are, and what June must close.
What We Shipped:
Six Major Engineering Streams
From the SF welcome landing to AI-answer foundations — the full breadth of May, merged and live
SF Launch Landing + Intake
/sf welcome landing, household benefits, chef intake page. Bay Area framing throughout. Migrated waitlist signups from Kit → Brevo. Wired 8 separate CTAs across header, footer and calculator.
SEO Foundation — 149 Pages
SF neighborhoods + East Bay + Peninsula + South Bay. /areas master directory, sitemap, robots, RSS. JSON-LD: Organization, WebSite, AboutPage, FAQPage, OfferCatalog, LocalBusiness. Branded OG images on all areas.
Conversion + Lead Capture
Neighborhood-aware lead forms on every area page. Pre-filled email CTA + UTM-tagged booking links. Sticky mobile bottom-bar CTA on all 149 area pages.
Legal + 404 + Core Web Vitals
/legal/privacy and /legal/terms pages with footer wiring. Branded 404 page. Core Web Vitals tightening committed across the site.
AEO / GEO Foundation
llms.txt + /llms-full.txt, Speakable schema, AI-crawler welcome. /how-it-works with HowTo schema. /compare cost page. Answer-first blocks on all 149 area pages. 2 new high-intent blog posts.
Brand System v1 + Pricing
EatCookJoy® v1.0 brand tokens (Haffer/Onest typeface + palette) merged. Landing restyle — dropped brutalism, added plate motifs. Subpage rollout PR #36 still in review. Site-wide flat per-session pricing reconciled.
Gaps, Risks & Blind Spots
What the velocity hides — measurement debt, an unreviewed price, and a stalled brand rollout
🔴 PR #36 — Brand Subpages (5 days open)
Brand tokens (#37) and landing restyle (#38) are merged. The site remains half-branded until #36 lands. Highest-visibility stall of the month.
Merge today — Jun 1🔴 Zero Analytics Instrumentation
149 pages built, but funnel events (tier select, neighborhood, book) are NOT wired to Plausible / GA4. All May conversion data is blind — we cannot yet measure which area pages convert.
Wire Jun 2🟡 Pricing Commit — No PR Review
Commit 216667b went in direct on May 29 with no PR. It is the most economically sensitive number on the site and needs a code-review backfill.
Backfill review🟡 AEO/GEO Untested (shipped May 26–28)
llms.txt, Speakable, /compare and answer-first blocks all landed in the last 5 days with zero citation data. Need measurement before the Jun Week 3 blog push to validate the investment.
Weekly check — Jun 7🟡 PR #44 — SessionStart Hook (3 days open)
Dev-experience PR deprioritised versus customer-facing work; currently skipping the hook per session decision. Signal: tooling debt accumulating.
Schedule or close🟡 Zero Chef-Supply Engineering
Intake form wired mid-May, but there is no chef dashboard, no onboarding automation and no acceptance-rate telemetry. All supply-side work is deferred to Jun Week 2.
Jun Week 2 priorityJune Priority Actions
Six moves to close the gaps, complete the brand work, and turn anecdotes into measured outcomes
| # | Action | Priority | Target | Owner |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Merge PR #36 — brand-system subpage rollout. Completes the May brand work and ends the half-branded state. | Urgent | Jun 1 | eng lead |
| 2 | Wire funnel analytics — Plausible/GA4 events for tier select, neighborhood and book click. May metrics are anecdotes without this. | Urgent | Jun 2 | frontend |
| 3 | Backfill code-review on 216667b — the pricing-reconciliation direct commit. | High | Jun 2 | eng + founder |
| 4 | Set up weekly AEO citation check — manual review: is the site being cited by Perplexity / ChatGPT Search / Gemini? | High | Jun 7 (weekly) | growth |
| 5 | Begin chef-supply engineering — chef dashboard, onboarding automation, acceptance-rate telemetry. | High | Jun Week 2 | backend |
| 6 | Resolve PR #44 & #45 — merge or close to reduce the open-PR backlog. | Medium | Jun 3 | eng lead |
