In January 1997, Mohamed Iqbal Abdul Sattar founded Khadlaj Perfumes in Sharjah, drawing on more than 45 years of hands-on perfumery experience. From a small atelier, he set out to compose fragrances that honoured the Arabian tradition while meeting the standards of an international audience — distilling rose attar, sourcing Cambodian oud directly from harvesters, and building a customer book one bottle at a time.

Today, the family business is led by his son Asif Mohamed Iqbal Katchi, Managing Director, who brings over 18 years of experience to advancing his father's legacy. Under their joint stewardship, Khadlaj has grown into a global house with a presence in 80+ countries and 10 showrooms — five across the UAE and five across Oman — while every bottle still leaves the Sharjah atelier, signed off by the family.
