"You Book, We Cook" — a marketplace dressed as a service.

HeyChef positioned as a service business, but the engine was a two-sided marketplace: vetted chefs on supply, time-poor expat households on demand. Pricing was hourly (AED 75 minimum, AED 130 for parties), with a hard 2-hour floor — guaranteeing every booking cleared ~AED 150 gross. Ingredients & cutlery were optional add-ons, layering high-margin attach revenue on top of labour.

Recurring weekly and monthly subscriptions delivered the prize: predictable cash flow the founders publicly said came from "the majority" of repeat customers. Specialty event nights — Sushi, Steak, Dim Sum, Yacht BBQs — handled seasonality and ticket size.

No franchise. No physical kitchen. No food inventory. The asset base was a vetted chef roster + a working booking funnel. That is precisely what an acquirer pays for.

HeyChef faced the challenge of navigating a market cluttered with unorganized, less trustworthy competitors. The absence of a distinct brand identity and a streamlined online platform hindered their potential for growth.

Aarts tackled this by strategically positioning HeyChef as the unrivaled leader in on-demand chef services. The tagline 'You Book, We Cook' encapsulated the brand promise succinctly.

The logo, featuring a chef's hat merged with a mouse-click icon, symbolized the ease of booking a chef with just a click.
